This is so cool – the first big commecrial application of a model SETI@Home has been useing for a long time now, and that GIMPS won a recent victory with. I kno there were some initiatives to put this model in place for low-cycle compensation years ago, but that was before the bubble burst, and, i’m sure, the funds that were going to fuel the initiative went the way of the dodo.
