so i woke up early to the dying twitter of my UPS.
put it out of it’s misery. i am ok for now, but i definitely want to get a new one eventually – i don’t like being jacked right into the wall, even off power strips.

had a 9am meeting that i run. i get in and have 4 vmails, and 2 emails about budget proposal worksheets. our fiscal year runs off cycle (Jul 1), so first round submissions/formulations are due by end of march. the big boss had announced monday that she wanted to get prelims done by this weekend so she can review them while she is at home. this means everyone has spent all week scrambling to get their numbers together.

except me, that is, because nobody included me on the 1 meeting or 173452465 emails that have been going around on this.

i, literally, walked into a sandstorm in a g-string. canceled the meeting – started dervishing.

in a little under three hours, i got upcoming financial year, fy07, and cobbled together some estimations for fy08. i repriced the entire fee schedule for our consultants (half of which i didn’t even know about), and re-ran pricing schemes for about 10 major hardware acquisitions (half of which will probably be denied anyway).

i got all this in just under the wire, as the person who is reviewing all this before it goes to the big boss has about 30 minutes to look through my shit (which is about 1/6th of our total budget narrative)

how has everyone else’s friday been?

i am officially sick. i may leave early today (my boss told me to).

after 6 years of faithful service, my UPS finally gave up the ghost this morning.
that is longer than the last two relationships i was in put together.

people wonder why i spend so much time on technology.
