So, one expensive MRI later, and I know I do not have a bone fragment stuck in my knee, nor do I need surgery. Apparently, because of the aforementioned lack of the majority of my articular cartilage on the lateral interior of my right knee, the scar tissue from the damage done to my LCL at the same time I lost said cartelage is the root of my problem. According to my doc, the scar tissue has caused “minor to moderate shifting of the lateral meniscus causing mild inflammation, but no foreseeable lasting damage unless further trauma is induced to the area”. What that means to you and I is that I am gonna be walking around like that fucking guy from Blazing Saddles for at least another week, by when, this should go away.

ah gabbe, we love ye so

If it doesn’t then I may need work done to deal with the scar tissue, which hopefully, can be addressed through sports medicine.

Yup, I’m getting a referral for PT. I hate PT.

The good news is, I get to wait until the inflammation recedes before going. PT beats surgery I guess, but I’ll be dammned if I am going to be happy about it.

The great knews is, the doctor reiterated the majority opinion given to me by every orthapedist I have seen that I should get double knee replacement. I swear taht I am not old enough to be having these conversations. Or maybe I am old enough, but just not on enough medication.

Fun fact of the day (aside from waht I hit you with in queezland): Richard Pryor had a writing credit in Blazing Saddles.

On the upside, I got my taxes done yestarday, so coupled with the MRI, i am pretty much broke until next week. Good thing the internets keep on providing that quality free entertainment.

If i had a sweatshop, I would pay the workers in love and vicious beatings. Yu work harder when you don’t know what’s coming. Snakes and vicious beatings? You always know that what you are getting is bad. Unless you really like snakes I guess, but I don’t know anyone who likes snakes enough to work in a sweatshop for them, particularly if they run the risk of getting beaten in leiu of snakes…

is one year old tomorrow. that makes my insides feel funny.

so this morning, i go to get out of bed, and my right knee, the bad one (okay, worse one, i’ll be honest), decides that it isin’t going to bend. i haven’t had this happen in years, and the last time was because a bone chip got lodged in that lovely bendy part of the knee where there is supposed to be a whole lot of cartilage (to prevent such things from happening). the articular carteliage just below the patella in my right knee is mostly gone, and something has seen fit to get in there and set up camp.

i tried some heat, indirect motion, inversion, and, ultimately, some direct motion, but very gently, and very lightly. surprisingly, after working my knee a little while, i was able to get some range of motion back. went and took a shower, and the knee is still losening up. i begin to think maybe this was some sort of psychosomatic flashback or something.

i take a step out of the shower, and it feels like someone shoved a red-hot knitting needle through the gap between my patella and MCL, and is playing chopsticks on the surface of my tibia. this defintiely feels like a bone chip, and i think all i did with all my wigglign and coaxing was work it into my inner knee instead of having it wedged in the outer part, where it was preventing motion, but not doing much else. previous knee problems have shown me just how many goddamn nerves there are in knees. there should be less.

so, a bit of ice, a few ibuprofen and a gimpy cab ride later, and i’m sitting at work, late, wishing i had new knees. no mri for me until next week, unless i go with an out of plan lab. i can get partial reimbursement, but damn if i want to put up with this for a week.

at least i have an elevator.

i just got a bump in my dell preferred gold account. after having tech lust flashes while setting up my bro’s new lappy, i decided to actually get myself something for my birthday this year. while Dell’s APY is fucking obnoxious, I don’t think I will pay on their terms, particularly once I sell the old lappy. this should get here at/on my b-day.

Loco night was reborn last night. I managed to drink a whole lot of whiskey and coke, in public, yet still remain gentlemanly. I had a good time. I lost at darts, but still managed to hit a couple bulls with my glasses off, thanks to the benefit of muscle memory and narrow focus of vision. The bad news of the night? When taking out my camera, I lost the book I was reading! I haven’t lost a book since I was a kid. It blows too, because it is the middle book of a trilogy. Guess I’ll just change reading channels whilst I wait for Amazon to send me a new one.

I am loving having a camera, as well as my Flickr pro account.

pics from the surprise party thrown for by are finally posted, as well as a bunch of pictures i took from the wb bridge when i was going back into the city sunday morning. the party was a great time, a lot of cooking, and a very ecclectic and interesting group of people. it is the first party i have been to in a while where my friends didn’t comprise more than half the guest list. by the end of the night, that was all that was left, but for the first few hours, not so much. i was dead on my feet by the end of the eve, lemme tell you.

I called Schumer’s office yesterday to add to the pressure that the Senate board was going to put on Gonzales when trying to find out more about this wiretapping deal.
I read the full transcript, then the translated transcript, and watched this video.
I want to know how George Washington authorized electronic surveliance.

What scares me is that when the aliens do show up, they will assume our leadership is comprised of our best and brightest, since we tout a “Democracy”. Man, will that hose us in the long run.

Speaking of anti-government, “V for Vendetta” hits Patty’s Day, which I am taking off. I am seeing a midnite premiere of this somewhere. Who is in?
