{"id":2088,"date":"2008-01-31T13:16:00","date_gmt":"2008-01-31T13:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/delascabezas.com\/blog\/index.php\/2019\/02\/20\/wow-39\/"},"modified":"2019-02-20T21:57:14","modified_gmt":"2019-02-20T21:57:14","slug":"wow-39","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/delascabezas.com\/blog\/index.php\/2008\/01\/31\/wow-39\/","title":{"rendered":"wow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back when I was in high school <lj user=\"wangch61\"> and I had the same Spanish teacher (different classes).  in pretty much all his classes, he made you memorize a poem in Spanish, which you had to recite to pass the class:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.analitica.com\/Bitblio\/espronceda\/pirata.asp\">La Canci\u00f3n Del Pirata<\/a> by <a href=\"http:\/\/translate.google.com\/translate?hl=en&amp;sl=es&amp;u=http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jos%25C3%25A9_de_Espronceda&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=translate&amp;resnum=3&amp;ct=result&amp;prev=\/search%3Fq%3DJos%25C3%25A9%2Bde%2BEspronceda%26num%3D100%26hl%3Den%26newwindow%3D1%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26hs%3DbNJ\">Jos\u00e9 de Espronceda<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I still have it memorized.  I recited it at a poetry slam once, and, most recently at a salon held by one of my co-workers.   Today, <lj user=\"wangch61\"> hit me with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=m_v6RzQjGs0\" data-rel=\"lightbox-video-0\">a youtube vid of the poem set to a sing, sung a la heavy metal, set to scenes from Pirates of the Carribean<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I like thier original music vid much better:<br \/>\n<lj-embed id=\"15\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Either way, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tierra_Santa\">Tierra Santa<\/a> is getting mixed into my music library.<\/p>\n<p>I think Jos\u00e9 de Espronceda would either be amused or revolted by all the attention.
